Terms & Conditions
Please note that our candles are made by hand and will vary in appearance and colour. Please also be advised "frosting" may occur and this is not a fault in the candle. This is a natural effect of using soy wax and does not, in any way, impact the performance of your candle.
Refunds & Exchanges
We have a 14-day return policy, to be eligible for a refund or exchange, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging.
We only accept exchanges for damaged items. If you would like to exchange your item please contact us by sending an email to lamechecandles@outlook.com with your name, order number and a photograph of the item for assessment. Please also indicate whether you would like a replacement or refund of your item.
Processing
If your refund is approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund too.
Candle Hire
1.By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") are entered into between you ("Client" or "you") and LA MÈCHE ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), a candle hire business based in New South Wales, Australia, for the hire of candles and related products for your event ("Event").
**2. Booking and Payment**
(a) **Non-refundable Deposit**
To confirm your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total hire fee is required. The deposit must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance of the hire fee must be paid in full no later than 14 days before the event date.
(b) **Payment Methods**
Payments can be made via bank transfer or other approved payment methods. The Client is responsible for ensuring that payments are made by the specified deadlines.
**3. Event Date Cancellation and Rebooking**
(a) **Cancellation by Client**
In the event of a cancellation, the Client must notify LA MÈCHE in writing. The deposit is non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation reason.
(b) **Rebooking Within 12 Months**
If the event date is cancelled, the Client may rebook their event with LA MÈCHE within 12 months from the original event date. To secure the new event date, the Client must make full payment of the outstanding balance as outlined in the original booking. Should the Client fail to rebook within the 12-month period, any amounts paid (including the deposit) will be forfeited, and a new booking may be required, subject to availability.
**4. Reducing or Increasing Candle Quantities**
(a) **Increase in Candle Quantities**
Once the booking has been confirmed and the deposit has been paid, the Client may increase the number of candles required for the event, subject to availability. LA MÈCHE will work with the Client to accommodate any increase in quantity.
(b) **Reduction in Candle Quantities**
Once the booking has been confirmed and the deposit paid, the Client may not reduce the number of candles initially requested. Any reductions to the quantity of candles will not be refunded, and the Client will still be required to pay for the original number of candles booked.
**5. Delivery, Setup, and Collection**
(a) **Delivery**
LA MÈCHE will deliver the candles and related products to the Event venue on the day of the event, at an agreed time. Any additional delivery charges, if applicable, will be communicated to the Client prior to the event.
(b) **Setup**
LA MÈCHE will set up the candles and related products at the Event venue as agreed upon prior to the event. Setup fees may apply depending on the size and complexity of the installation.
(c) **Collection**
At the conclusion of the event, LA MÈCHE will arrange for the collection of the candles and related products. Collection times will be agreed upon with the Client. The Client must ensure that the venue is accessible for collection.
**6. Condition of Products**
The Client agrees to return all items hired in the same condition as they were received. Any damages to candles, holders, or other equipment will incur a fee to cover the cost of repair or replacement, as determined by LA MÈCHE.
**7. Liability**
(a) **Client Responsibility**
The Client is responsible for ensuring that the candles are used safely during the Event and that any applicable safety guidelines are followed. LA MÈCHE will provide basic safety instructions for the use of candles, but the Client is ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
(b) **Limitation of Liability**
LA MÈCHE is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from the Client’s use or misuse of the candles and related products. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold LA MÈCHE harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the Event.
**8. Force Majeure**
LA MÈCHE shall not be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations under this Agreement where such failure is caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or government restrictions.
**9. Governing Law**
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales.
**10. Amendment of Terms**
LA MÈCHE reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes to these Terms will be communicated to the Client in writing. Continued use of our services after any amendment shall be deemed acceptance of the revised Terms.
